Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,038 with two more deaths
With 298 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 2,201, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported two more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,038. The country also recorded 298 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 278,768 with 2,201 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 273,529 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 74 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 163 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 132 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 26 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 178 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 34 in Gandaki, 34 in Lumbini, 18 in Province 1, 14 in Province 2, 19 in Sudurpaschim and one in Karnali province.
As of Wednesday, 2,298,167 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,100 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Tuesday recorded 260 new Covid-19 infections. Similarly, four Covid-19 related fatality and 266 new cases were reported on Monday and 176 new coronavirus infections were recorded in the country on Sunday.
