National Covid-19 tally reaches 277,944 with 176 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Sunday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,032.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 176 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 277,944.
According to the ministry, 273,240 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 117 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 1,672.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 99 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 87 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, eight each in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 103 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 37 in Gandaki, 18 in Lumbini, 11 in Province 1, five in Karnali and one each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim.
As of Sunday, 2,285,288 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 3,456 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Saturday had reported one more Covid-19 related fatality and 128 new cases. Similarly, 179 new coronavirus infections were recorded on Friday and 152 new Covid-19 infections were reported in the country on Thursday.
