National Covid-19 tally reaches 278,470 with 260 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Tuesday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,036.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 260 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 278,470.
According to the ministry, 273,455 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 113 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 1,979.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 149 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 108 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 33 each in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 163 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 37 in Gandaki, 32 in Lumbini, nine in Province 1, four in Karnali, 13 in Province 2 and two in Sudurpaschim.
As of Tuesday, 2,294,067 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 4,243 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Monday had reported four more Covid-19 related fatalities and 266 new cases. Similarly, 176 new coronavirus infections were recorded on Sunday and 128 new Covid-19 infections were reported in the country on Saturday.
