National Covid-19 tally reaches 274,721 with 66 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Sunday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,010.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 66 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 274,721.
According to the ministry, 270,886 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 58 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 825.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 27 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 24 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, two in Lalitpur and one in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 40 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 19 in Gandaki Province, five in Lumbini Province, one each in Province 1 and Sudurpaschim Province. Province 2 and Karnali Province did not report any cases today.
As of Sunday, 2,192,836 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 4,111 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal recorded 47 new coronavirus infections on Saturday. Similarly, the country had recorded 120 Covid-19 infections on Friday and 107 infections on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the country had reported 87 Covid-19 cases and 233 deaths, 232 of which had been unreported to the ministry before.
