Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,010
With 87 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 766, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday confirmed an additional 233 deaths due to the coronavirus disease, 232 of which had been unreported to the ministry before.
The latest figure puts the country’s Covid-19 death toll at 3,010.
As per the ministry's data, one person died due to Covid-19 complications in the past 24 hours as the country reported 87 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 274,381 with 766 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 270,605 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 62 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 56 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 39 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, three in Bhaktapur and 14 in Lalitpur.
In the past 24 hours, 57 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 18 in Gandaki Province, eight in Lumbini Province, and two each in Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.
As of Wednesday, 2,173,511 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,399 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported 78 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday. Similarly, three Covid-19 related fatalities and 73 new cases were reported on Monday while one Covid-19 related death and 78 new infections were recorded on Sunday.
