116 new cases take Nepal’s Covid-19 tally to 17,061
Health Ministry says there are 6,695 active cases in the country.Post Report
The Health Ministry on Tuesday confirmed 116 new Covid-19 cases in the country, taking the national tally to 17,061.
As many as 10,328 individuals or 60.53 percent of total cases, including 34 in the past 24 hours, have returned home after recovering from the disease, according to the ministry. There are currently 6,695 active cases in the country.
“Samples of 21 individuals from Dhanusha, 19 from Mahottari, 14 from Achham, six from Dailekh, five each from Dang, Kailali and Palpa, four from Jumla, three each from Argakhanchi, Dhankuta, Pyuthan and Rolpa, two each from Gorkha, Ilam, Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchok, Nawalparasi (East) and Parsa, and one each from Banke, Bardiya, Jhapa, Kanchanpur, Nuwakot, Okhaldhunga, Rautahat, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Siraha, Sunsari, Surkhet and Tehrathum came back positive during tests at various labs across the country,” said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry.
The country has reported 38 Covid related deaths so far.
“Bhojpur, Mustang, Manang and Humla don’t have any active cases,” Gautam added.
There were 144 new cases reported on Monday and 82 new cases on Sunday. Three Covid-19 related deaths and 70 new cases were recorded on Saturday. On Friday, 118 new cases were detected.
The ministry said 4,361 PCR tests were carried out in the last 24 hours across the country.
