Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 16,945 after 144 new cases
At 41, Surkhet reported most cases, followed by 27 from Dhanusha, Health Ministry says.Post Report
The Health Ministry on Monday confirmed 144 new Covid-19 cases in the country, taking the national tally to 16,945.
As many as 10,294 individuals, including 1,705 in the past 24 hours, have returned home after recovering from the disease, according to the ministry. There are currently 6,613 active cases in the country.
“During tests at various labs, 41 individuals from Surkhet, 27 from Dhanusha, 10 from Kailali, nine from Rautahat, eight from Kapilvastu, five from Lalitpur, four each from Jhapa and Mahottari, three from Kathmandu, two each from Baglung, Tanahun, Bardiya, Dang, Rukum (West), Dailekh, Myagdi, Bajhang and Baitadi, and one each from Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Kailali, Dolakha, Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Parbat, Syangja, Kapilvastu, Banke, Jajarkot and Achham tested positive in the last 24 hours,” said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry.
The country has reported 38 Covid-19 related deaths so far.
“Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Mustang, Manang and Humla don’t have any active cases,” Gautam added.
The country reported 82 new cases on Sunday and three Covid-19 related deaths and 70 new cases on Saturday. On Friday, 118 new cases were detected.
The ministry said 5,856 PCR tests were carried out in the last 24 hours across the country, taking the total PCR tests so far to 289,371.
