With 82 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 16,801

The Health Ministry on Sunday confirmed 82 new Covid-19 cases in the country taking the national tally to 16,801.
The ministry said 8,589 individuals, 147 in the past 24 hours, have returned home after recovering from the disease, and there are currently 8,174 active cases in the country.
“Nineteen individuals from Dhausaha, eleven from Surkhet, seven from Kalikot, six from Tanahu, five each from Chitwan and Kathmandu, two each from Baglung, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Lamjung, Morang, Parbat and Rukum (West), and one each from Bajhang, Darchula, Gorkha, Gulmi, Jhapa, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi (East), Palpa, Sarlahi, Sindhuli, Sindhupalchok, Solukhumbu, and Syangja tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours,” said Dr Jageswor Gautam, spokesperson for the Health Ministry in a regular press briefing.
The country has reported 38 Covid-19 related deaths so far.
“Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Mustang, Manang and Humla don’t have any active cases,” Gautam added.
Three Covid-19 related deaths and 70 new cases were reported in the county on Saturday while 118 new cases were reported on Friday.
Gautam said 3,916 PCR tests were carried out in the last 24 hours across the country, taking the total number of PCR tests to 283,515.
