Rai joins Scientific Council of COP29 Presidency as board member
The council is led by ADA University and has 20 members representing various geographic areas.Post Report
Sajina Rai, programme director and research fellow of the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs, has joined the Scientific Council of COP29 Presidency as a board member.
Rai joined the council at the invitation of ADA University, the main academic partner of COP29 Presidency.
The council is led by ADA University and has 20 members representing various geographic areas. The council will have various activities, such as a scientific conference, monthly seminars with students and youth, and summer school.
The council's objectives are to bring together universities and think tanks from around the world to increase awareness and access to scientific research, including from the IPCC, in support of priority issues for the upcoming COP2 and support the COP29 process with access to and awareness of scientific research and to promote scientific discussions at COP29, empower and involve the youth and student, and conduct training and outreach activities.
The first meeting of board members of the Scientific Council was virtually held on Friday.
