The filming of Prasad, a film based on the struggle of couples who cannot conceive, is slated to begin this May. Most of the filming will take place in Kathmandu, the film makers shared during a programme organised in the Capital on Monday.

The movie features artists Bipin Karki, Namrata Shrestha, and Nabin Manandhar in lead roles. Written by journalist Sushil Poudel, the movie is being produced and directed by Subhas Thapa and Dinesh Raut respectively.

Actress Shrestha shared that she opted for the film because of its unique content. She had mulled over the script for a year and was convinced that the movie could ignite a significant discourse in our society. Similarly, actor Bipin lauded the gravity of the issue which is being raised in the movie. Writer Sushil Poudel shared that his debut work was an attempt for a course correction in a industry where stories are often poor and aren’t portrayed creatively. Rajesh Shrestha will take charge of the filming while Bikash Subedi, and Dinesh Bahadur Raut will both work as Associate Directors. Singers Anju Panta, Ketan Chettri, and Rupak Dotel and songwriters Ganesh Shahi and Joseph Shahi will also work in the movie.
