The play, according to director Khadka, tells the story of an incident that takes place in a small family in mid-east Nepal. Metacid is Khadka’s debut directorial venture. Speaking about the genesis of the play, Khadka said, “I started writing the play about a year ago, and the play is based on hear-say incidents which I have fictionalised.”
Khadka added, “For a first-time director, it was pretty challenging, working from writing through bringing it to the stage. But it was, nonetheless a great learning experience.”
Khadka, who has been in the Nepali theatre for the past five years, has appeared in plays such as Maan vs Mati and Jar and Milk Tea, among others; she also played a role in last year’s film Ghampani, while a couple of films starring her are currently in the pipeline.
Metacid features actors Samyog Guragain, Ankit Khadka, Supriya Rana, Pranisha Khadka, Rohit Poudel, Govinda Sunar, Resham Budathoki, Sita Rana, Deepika Thapa, and Rear Rai.
