Pop star Naren Limbu is now slated to turn director. Limbu’s debut directorial, Aastha—which is also the name of his former band—went on the floor this week. Aastha, the film, is reportedly about highs and lows of a sibling relationship.

Limbu is also starring in a film called Lahure, which will mark his debut at acting; Lahure, which tells the story of the aspiring candidates for the job of British Army, is slated to hit the theatres on May 11.

Speaking to the Post, Limbu has said, “I was always very interested in filmmaking. And when the producers approached me for the role, I was excited, and the film well proved to be a learning experience.”

While on the musical front, Limbu is slated to release a music video soon.

Aastha is written by Limbu himself and features score by Sudeep Gurung, who has been Limbu’s musical collaborator for the past 15 years and is the other half of the band Aastha.

Moreover, Aastha will also feature Limbu alongside actor Kusum Gurung and Srijana Gurung.
