Adelaide has a large 3000-strong Nepali Diaspora; and organisers said that about 30 percent of them turned up for the weekend show. “It is always fascinating to witness the Nepathya factor unifying Nepalis wherever they go,” said Khum Gurung of the organising team. “I am glad no one had to return from Norwood Hall—as was the case in 2012, when many had to be turned away—as we had arranged for a decent size venue and I am glad people came in such numbers to witness the 25 years celebration of Nepathya.”
The Adelaide show was preluded by the screening of the band’s recently-released song, Ghar ko Kura. Following which, the band went to perform songs such as Sirfula, Yo Zindagani, and Hami Nepali, among others. “It is such a lovely feeling to come to these distant lands and feel the same energy that we get when we perform back home,” said Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung, addressing the crowd. The band will travel to Sydney for their third show, slated to take place at the Big Top Auditorium in Luna Park scheduled for July 22, before performing at a show in New Zealand as well.
