Hamra Bhansa Bare Bazar Ka Bhram (false assumption about health and nutrition), is slated to hit the stands. The book, authored jointly by Dr Aruna Upreti and Laxman Adhikari, is due for release on July 2. The book revolves around the false assumptions abound in the market about food and lifestyle. Both Dr Upreti and Adhikari are known for their health columns in the media. “Our traditional eating habits are replete with nutritious food supplements,” Dr Upreti said, “But when I saw children fed with modern, sub-standard food, I started writing, aiming to create awareness on the subject.” Upreti’s collaborator Adhikari said, “I was on the same page regarding the issue. I am happy that the book is finally coming out.”
The book, according to the publishers, tries to quell the false impression about energy drinks and junk food created by popular advertisements, while delving into negative effects of food items widely available in the market making false promises—from beauty to instant weight reducing gimmicks. (PR)
