Spanish photojournalist Omar Havava’s photobook—Endurance: Earthquake Nepal—is slated to be launched in Kathmandu on Thursday. The launch will be followed by a presentation on the book which is a collection of 72 black-and-white photographs that showcase the everyday struggle of the Nepali people in surviving, adapting and rebuilding their lives after the devastating earthquakes that rattled the nation in 2015.
The book documents the extraordinary will and resilience of the Nepali people throughout the affected areas, as they tried to restore their lives back to normalcy in the face of adversity.
“My only goal with this presentation of Endurance is to show my love for Nepal. I hope that this story will represent the real of strength of Nepali people fighting against adversity in times when the whole country became a united family,” said Havava.
Omar’s presentation at the event, which is a part of the 2017 Kathmandu Triennale, will also comprise a discussion of the work Omar has done in Nepal and of the making of the book.
The book will be released at 5:30 pm on Thursday at the Himalayan Bank Auditorium in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.
