Titled Sublime Conjugation, the exhibit was inaugurated by Ragini Upadhaya, the chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, on Friday.
In their artists’ statement issued during the opening, the duo asked, “What would have become of life if there was no love at all?” There, indeed, would be no life at all
and the artists through the artworks explore how “unification is most realised when one is constantly being reminded, by a companion in a relationship, of love and harmony.” According to the artists, the artworks aim to transport the audience “to a dream-like state—a state one is elevated to when one is understood and the person who understands is just before you.”
Sabita Dangol, who is also a performance artist, has three solo exhibitions to her name. Ishwar Pariyar, a recipient of the National Fine Art Award, is also a performance artist and recently performed at the Kolkota International Performance Art Festival.
The joint-exhibition is slated to continue through February 7.
