“We have monsoon in Nepal. Monsoon is beautiful till a limit as it irrigates our farms. But when it comes in excess, it becomes a disaster. Currently, many villages in Nepal are suffering from flood and landslides. Many organisations are carrying out relief works. Look for an organisation of your confidence and please contribute to help our fellow citizens in dire need,” Amrit appealed.
Nepathya is known for their powerful and lively stage performance. Entertainment coupled with social awareness during shows make their show special. Along with this, the production part of the show with well-synchronized technical aspects—from sound, lights to audio-visuals—added to the excitement of the audience.
As the show proceeded, Amrit talked of Nepal’s contemporary situation, which was received with silence and then applaud. “We have seen many political changes in our lives. We have fought for democracy and for a republic state. But it now seems the fight to freedom is still not over. We still live in Nepal in a society where fear prevails, integrity among leadership and civil servants and even professionals lack, rule of law,” the band’s frontman added. “However, we still have a few people with high integrity who are fighting for this cause. You may think as a person living abroad how could you help. In today’s world of social media, your voice supporting genuine issues does matter. Hence, do not hesitate to support the fight to freedom and fight against irregularities going on in your homeland.”
Nepathya now moves on to the Danish capital Copenhagen for their debut show in the Scandinavian nation at Amagerbio on Tuesday. Amrit has been accompanied on this tour by Dhurba on drums, Suraj on keyboards, Subin on bass, Niraj on guitars and Shanti on madal.
