Singer Rohit John Chettri’s first solo album Bistarai Bistarai was released on Saturday amidst a function held at Club 25 Hours, Tangal, Kathmandu. The album was jointly launched by Chettri’s parents Robin John Chettri and Reema Shrestha Chettri.

“My parents have always supported me; through thick and thin. The fact that they are releasing my first album is a great honour for me, and it is my way of thanking them,” said the singer.   

The album which comprises eight songs—all of which are live recordings—was composed by 16 musicians.

The songs were recorded at Kat Jazz Records. The album also features a duet—titled Kaalo Sanjh—which Chhetri has collaborated with singer Anisha Maharjan.

Talking about the album, the singer said, “All the songs in the albums are infused with romantic sensibilities.”

During the function, Chhetri offered a rendition of all the eight songs which are included in the album. The singer is currently working on an album with the

rock band 1974 AD, which he joined earlier this year.
