The event saw more than 2,000 participant riders, including famed cyclist Pushkar Shah and the Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana. The cyclists rode through Patan Durbar Square- Chobar- Kirtipur- Swayahbhunath- Balaju- Budhanilkantha- Boudha and then back to Patan Durbar Square. Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal honoured the participants with medals for completing the challenging ride. The event was held to raise funds that would go into providing health care facilities to pregnant women and children in the rural areas affected by the Great Quake. Proceeds will mostly go towards re-establishing the health care centre in Makaibari VDC, Dolakha. The centre will benefit around 7,000 people in the surrounding areas.
