Dor Bahadur Bista, known by those in the anthropology scene as ‘The Father of Anthropology’, is a familiar name to those who are interested in the subject. The anthropologist has published a number of books and research paper, and left a significant mark on Nepali Anthropology.
Bista, who used to leave for remote destinations unannounced and return after completing his research, has been missing for almost 30 years.
In tribute to the lost legend, The Dor Foundation through The Movie Lovers Nepal, is set to present ‘Ma Alap Huna Chahanchu’ (I Want To Disappear) - Into The Mist, a documentary on the bumpy life of Dor Bahadur Bista.
The documentary holds both cultural and academic significance to a large demographic, and is being screened on Dor Bahadur Bista’s birthday—Magh 4 (January 18). Interested individuals can book their tickets through Movie Lovers Nepal at Rs. 200 and enjoy the screening at CDC Cinema, Sundhara.
Additionally, a general debate program will also take place after the screening.
