Post Report
Several parts of eastern and central Nepal are likely to see moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall on Friday due to the influence of Cyclone Motha, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.
According to the division, skies will remain mostly cloudy across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while light rain is expected in some parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Moderate snowfall is likely in the high hill and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with heavy snowfall possible in a few places. Heavy rain is also expected in some parts of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, and at one or two places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
The division said weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from Friday evening as the effect of the system weakens. The weather disturbance is associated with the remnant low-pressure system of Cyclone Motha, which developed in the Bay of Bengal and has now moved over central India.
It added that the system has also been partially influenced by a westerly wind and a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea.
