Jacaranda trees are in full bloom across Kathmandu, covering streets and parks in vibrant purple as spring peaks in the Capital.
People are often seen taking photos and filming videos beneath the trees, which shed carpets of purple petals along pavements and public spaces.
The seasonal bloom, although brief, draws attention to the value of urban greenery in a city grappling with rapid urbanisation and worsening air quality.
Photojournalist Joel Ghale captured the images showing the trees’ fleeting transformation of Kathmandu’s urban landscape.
