Two sister organisations of the Nepali Congress staged a protest in Kathmandu on Monday, calling for a parliamentary investigation against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
Members affiliated with Congress’ youth and student wings–Nepal Tarun Dal and the Nepal Student Union–staged a torch rally at Battisputali, chanting slogans against the deputy prime minister and also demanding an investigation into the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate land swap scandal.
The protest comes amid the parliament’s obstruction from the main opposition, pressing for a parliamentary probe against Lamichhane for his alleged involvement in cooperatives frauds.
Here are some photos of the protest captured by the Post’s photojournalist Deepak KC.
