People from the Newar community celebrated the Bhimsen Jatra festival with fervour on Friday night.

During the festival, the devotees carry the palanquin where the idol of God Bhimsen rests.

In Lalitpur, people carried the palanquin and lit incense as a part of the worship as they passed through Patan Durbar Square.

People from the Newar community worship Bhimsen believing that the deity brings prosperity in their business.

The festival is observed on the tenth day during the waning phase of the moon in Bhadra month as per the Nepali calendar.
