A total lunar eclipse was observed from Nepal on Tuesday.
The eclipse lasted for about 1 hour and 23 minutes, starting from 5:11 pm.
According to NASA, the next total lunar eclipse will occur on March 14, 2025.
Dr Binod Adhikari, an associate academician at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), who specialises in Astronomy, said that Tuesday’s lunar eclipse is the last one for this year.
“The next lunar eclipse will be in May and October of 2023 and the solar eclipse will be seen on April 20 and October 14 in the upcoming year,” Adhikari said.
A lunar eclipse takes place when the moon passes through the earth’s shadow. During the eclipse the earth lies in between the sun and the moon.
