Police on Monday cracked down on loan shark victims in Kirtipur.

Several loan shark victims have come to Kathmandu from various districts of the Tarai region seeking justice for the financial crimes committed against them.

Four to five farmers and youths were reportedly injured in the police crackdown. Around 20 protesters have been detained at Police Circle Kirtipur, according to DSP Purushottam Prasad Pandey.

Continuing their protest on Monday, the victims marched towards Maitighar carrying placards to stage a sit-in. They were stopped by the police near Kirtipur Gate.

As many as 60 victims have been regularly demonstrating at Maitighar for the past 41 days and have been living temporarily in Kirtipur.
