Rally held in Lalitpur demanding every mother tongue be recognised as official language

People representing various caste groups and professions carried out a rally in Lalitpur on Friday, demanding that the government recognise every mother tongue spoken in the country as official language.
Civil society members under the banner of Brihat Nagarik Andolan, linguistic rights activists, members of various indigenous groups as well as Valley-wide Road Expansion Victims’ Struggle Committee were among the participants of the rally dubbed the ‘Matribhasha March’.
The rally passed through Pulchowk and converged into a gathering at Patan Durbar Square.
