Students and parents praise education fair
The second day of the fifth annual ‘Kantipur Hissan Edu-Fair 2018’ continued to draw a large number of students and parents who said that they were found the event informative and helpful.The second day of the fifth annual ‘Kantipur Hissan Edu-Fair 2018’ continued to draw a large number of students and parents who said that they were found the event informative and helpful.
The four day fair started in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu,from Thursday with more than 150 stalls of schools and colleges offering guidance and counselling to the students looking to get into the best academic institutions in the country.
Sushil, a parent visiting the fair to find a decent college for his son, said he learnt a great deal about different colleges and their admission criteria.
“I leave as a confident parent with my mind made up about my son’s future college,” he said.
Another parent Dipak Thapa said quality education was what he most wanted for his children and he found a lot of colleges with excellent academic records at the fair.
“The education sector has become very competitive. So every parent and student must choose the colleges wisely. By coming to this fair, we not only learnt about the colleges, but also about their facilities and infrastructures and their fee structure,” he said.
For many parents and students, college tuition plays a big role in their enrolment decision. The ongoing education fair has provided them the chance to learn about the fee structures of various schools and colleges.
“I am very satisfied with the information that the colleges have provided here. I learned everything about their tuition costs and facilities. Now, I can make my own comparison and pick a college that best suits me,” said Niranjan Kumar Rajat, a student said. Hissan General Secretary Lok Bahadur Bhandari said that the response shown by the visitors had been overwhelming.
“This event has been a big draw so far. We hope to see the same enthusiasm and participation from students and parents in remaining two days of this fair,” he said.
