Maoist ministers discussed with Dahal various issues including ways to make their ministries successful during the meeting held at his residence in Khumaltar on Monday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reshuffled 30 of the 48 secretaries without consulting ministers and Maoist Centre chairman before he left for his India visit.
During the meeting ministers raised serious concerns over the prime minister’s unilateral decision of reshuffling the secretaries.
Oli had categorically stated during his latest briefing to ministers and secretaries that he would monitor activities of ministers.
Following the meeting today a Maoist Centre minister said they had urged Dahal to settle the issue by discussing with the Prime Minister.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, who is leading Maoist Centre in the PM Oli’s cabinet, had briefed Dahal about PM’s unilateral decision. All other ministers supported his complaint.
Oli’s decision to sever National Investigation Department (NID) from his ministry had annoyed Thapa. The decision to appoint Oli’s secretary and confidante Prem Kumar Rai as Home Ministry Secretary further infuriated Thapa.
According to Minister Giriraj Mani Pokhrel the vexing issue of secretaries’ transfer was one of the many points on the agenda of their meeting today.
He said the meeting decided to make the activities of all the Maoist Centre led ministries systematic and effective by regularly charting policies and programmes.
“During the meeting Chairman Dahal suggested to the ministers to work in such a way that would support the unification process,” Pokhrel said, and added Dahal would discuss the developments with the PM.
At the meeting, the ministers briefed Dahal their experiences after assuming their respective ministries.
