Unidentified persons torched a Sajha Yatayat bus in Balaju of Kathmandu on Saturday.

The bus (Ba 4 Kha 5648) was heading towards Tinkune from Balaju when the incident occurred.

The entire interior of the bus was gutted in the fire.

It has been learnt that the driver had gone to have lunch when the incident took place.

The blaze was later taken under control with the help of police personnel.

Police suspect that the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist might have torched the bus for defying banda.

The Maoist party had called the banda today to protest the Kanchanpur incident.

Gobinda Gautam, 32, of Ananda Bazaar, Punarbas Municipality-8, Kanchanpur district was killed after India’s Seema Sashastra Bal (SSB) allegedly opened fire at border on Thursday.
