Kalanki, one of the major and busiest junctions in the Capital, is getting a massive makeover with the construction of the country's first under-pass road under the Chakrapath Development Project.

The 800 metre long under-pass road section being constructed with Chinese aid will stretch from Khasi Bazzar to Bafal and is expected to complete within one and half years.

A part of the 10-km Koteshowr-Kalanki road expansion project, the construction is slated to be completed by 2017, with a budget of Rs 5.27 billion.
