The water level has risen in Saptakoshi River after incessant rainfall since Monday night.
The water flow in the river was measured at 126,830 cusec on Tuesday morning. Twenty of the 56 doors of Koshi barrage have been opened after the rise in water level. Superintendent of Police Poshraj Pokharel informed that the water level has been gradually rising in the river.
Meanwhile, a flooded local Tegra Khola in Itahari has inundated villages at east of Itahari bazaar. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel are trying to contain the flood but their efforts are being hampered by continuous rainfall.
