Drug dealer arrested with Rs 5 million

Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Tamang on April 29 from Budhanilkantha Municipality and made him public today.
At a news conference organised here on Tuesday, Bureau Chief, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jay Bahadur Chand said that Tamang is reportedly the chief trader of Amphetamine in Nepal. Tamang is brother of Dharma Bahadur Tamang, who is also involved in the expansion of illegal trade of Amphetamine in Australia, Myanmar and Philippines. He is presently living in Thailand.
It was found that 302 grams of Amphetamine, which was seized by the Bureau on April 12, was demanded by Tamang from Thailand. Bureau had also arrested Netra Gurung and Chitra Tamang along with Amphetamine.
Police were able to arrest Tamang after he sent a message to Bureau officials to settle the issue with a bribe of Rs 5 million. Further investigation into the case is underway, the Bureau said. RSS
