Priority will be given to the tourist destinations enlisted as Unesco world heritage sites.
According to the party, the campaign will be held every Saturday for three months. Work began from the Pashupati area on Saturday. Naya Shakti Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai and its leaders engaged in collecting waste on the temple premises.
Party leaders say that Bhattarai, who played a vital role as the prime minister to expand roads across the Valley, is now working to make Kathmandu clean. According to Bhattarai, the metropolis should be made green as well as clean.
According to Ganga Shrestha, a coordinator of the campaign, it was not a programme of any particular party. He requested the people to join the effort to make the city livable. He said social organisations could join the campaign with their banner.
