Shashank Koirala has been elected the new General Secretary in the 13^th General Convention of the Nepali Congress on Tuesday.

Koirala garnered 1417 votes against his close competitor Arjun Narshingh KC who obtained 1017 votes. Gagan Thapa got 584 votes. Koirala was running from Ram Chandra Poudel panel while KC was nominated under Sher Bahadur Deuba panel.

Likewise, Sitadevi Yadav has secured the post of Nepali Congress treasurer in the ongoing NC General Convention.

She garnered eight votes more than her close competitor Chitralekha Yadav. Sitadevi secured 1217 votes while Chitralekha Yadav got 1209 votes.

Sitadevi was running in the poll from Ram Chandra Poudel while Chitralekha is a candidate from Sher Bahadur Deuba panel.

The election committee is yet to announce the official result.
