Four reporters picked for ‘investigative journalism campaign’
Makar Shrestha, a reporter with Kantipur daily, has been selected for this year’s competitive “investigative journalism campaign”.Kalendra Sejuwal from Nagarik daily, Kalpana Bhattarai from Naya Patrika daily and Tufan Neupane from Himal Khabarpatrika are other candidates selected for the campaign initiated by the Centre for Investigative Journalism Nepal (CIJ) with the support of the British Embassy.
The selected candidates will also be visiting various media houses based in the UK for a period of one week.
British Ambassador to Nepal John Rankin and CIJ Chair Kunda Dixit had formally announced the names of the selected candidates on Wednesday. The selection was carried out by the editors of various media outlets after analysing the investigative news published throughout the year. This year’s jury included Editor-in-Chief of Kantipur daily Sudheer Sharma, editor of Ujyaalo Network Gopal Guragain and editor-in-chief of news portal Setopati.com Ameet Dhakal.
