Maoist Centre leaders clash at party office in Kanchanpur

Two CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders fought at the party’s Mahendranagar office on Sunday evening.
Bhuwan Bista, a member of the Bhimdatta Municipality committee, and Ramchandra Bhatt, the Sudurpaschim Province in-charge of the party’s student wing, All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (Revolutionary), were involved in the fight.
According to police, Bhatta sustained serious injuries in the assault and is undergoing treatment at Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi. Bista also suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment under police supervision, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
The incident occurred during a discussion at the party office. The Maoist Centre has taken disciplinary action against Bista, expelling him from the party’s membership.
A statement issued by the party’s Kanchanpur committee said Bista attacked Bhatta during the meeting, citing prior disputes.
