Leopard attack injures four in Doti

Four people were injured in a leopard attack at Rokaya Bada in ward 6 of Sayal Rural Municipality in Doti district on Sunday evening.
According to the District Police Office, Doti, the leopard entered the village around 4:30pm and attacked 30-year-old Pashupati Katuwal, 50-year-old Khadka Rokaya, 45-year-old Kalu Rokaya, and 13-year-old Srijana Rokaya.
The leopard also injured livestock, including a cow, an ox belonging to Kalawati Rokaya, and another ox owned by Prem Rokaya. Additionally, two goats belonging to Prem Katuwal have gone missing.
Locals said the leopard emerged from a nearby forest and attacked the grazing animals before entering the settlement and attacking residents.
Fearing further harm, locals used stones, sticks and wooden clubs to drive the leopard away. Police said the leopard was eventually killed in the encounter.
The injured individuals have been taken to the District Hospital, Doti, for treatment. Police said they are further studying the matter.
