One dead as police open fire during clash at polling station in Bajura

One person died of bullet injuries after police opened fire at an unruly crowd at Damtha polling station in Triveni Municipality in Bajura.
According to journalist Paras Bikram Shah, who is at the incident site, a bullet fired by the police to control the situation following a clash killed 25-year-old Sanjeev Aidee.
The clash had ensued after one local tried to snatch a ballot box from the polling station. Voting process has been halted following the incident.
Three people including police constable Krishna Kunwar were injured during the incident. Parshuram Padhyaya and Khadak Aidee were among the injured.
A Nepal Army helicopter airlifted the injured to Kathmandu for treatment.
