Nepal begin ACC U-19 Women’s Premier Cup campaign with emphatic win over Qatar

Nepal made a strong start to the ACC U-19 Women’s T20 Premier Cup, defeating Qatar by 105 runs in their opening match in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday.
Playing at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Nepal posted 130 runs for the loss of three wickets after being asked to bat first. In reply, Qatar were bowled out for just 25 runs in 12 overs.
Sabitri Dhami top-scored for Nepal with a half-century, making 52 runs off 47 balls with the help of five fours. Sana Praveen contributed 27 runs, while Anjila Pathak and Trishna Bishwakarma scored 23 and five runs respectively.
Qatar’s bowlers Lihaara Avekshakara and Mehja Mehwis took two and one wickets respectively.
The Qatari batting line-up struggled throughout the chase, with none of their batters reaching double figures. Sargam Patel was their highest scorer with four runs.
Nepal’s bowlers dismantled Qatar’s innings, with Rachana Kumari Chaudhary and Riya Sharma taking three wickets each. Manisha Upadhyay claimed two wickets, while Anu Kathayat picked up one.
Nepal will face the Singapore U-19 team in their next match on Sunday.
