PM Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament-2072 kicks off
The Prime Minister Cup- Women's National Cricket Tournament-2072 has kicked off in Pokhara from Wednesday.Ekantipur Report
The tournament was all set to begin from May 2 but was postponed due to the April 25 quake.
Inaugurating the event, Lawmaker Adhikari pointed out the need of developing the physical infrastructure for cricket in view of promoting sport tourism in the country, where cricket has been gradually gaining the ground.
Similarly, Devendra Praju, Vice-Chairman of the Cricket Development Committee, Area no 8, argued that the cricket would gain momentum if it is incorporated in the school curriculum.
Organized by the Regional Cricket Development Committee, Pokhara, the tournament will see the participation of Region No 1 Biratnagar, No 3 Kathmandu, No 5 Nepalgunj, No 8 Pokhara and Armed Police Force (APF) under the group 'A'.
Similarly, another tournament under the same Cup has kicked off in Chitwan where Region No 2 Birgunj, No 4 Bhairahawa, No 6 Baitadi, No 7 Janakpur and No 9 Kanchanpur belonging to group 'B' will be vying. RSS
