The Lumbini Province government has postponed the “4th Laureates and Leaders for Children Summit: Development and Peace” which was scheduled to be held in Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, on March 11 and 12.
The Cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary on Tuesday decided to postpone the summit citing ‘special reasons’.
No new date has been announced. But it is apparent that the postponement was caused by Monday’s change in the ruling coalition.
As many as nine Nobel laureates, 18 high profile foreign delegates including heads of the states and former prime ministers had reportedly confirmed their participation in the summit.
