Re-polling underway in 10 polling centres of Dolakha
The Election commission had called-off the elections on November 20 citing unfair play, and absence of a free and fearless environment at the polling centres.Post Report
Re-polling is underway in 10 polling centres of Dolakha.
According to the district’s Chief Election Officer Dilliratna Shrestha, re-polling began at 7:00 am on Thursday.
Shrestha informed that around fifteen percent votes have been cast as of 11am.
There are a total of 8,514 eligible voters in the area.
The re-polling is being held at voting centres A and B of Putalikath of Janajyoti Secondary School in Baiteshwori Rural Municipality-2 and at voting centres A, B, and C of Kalidhunga Secondary School at ward no 3 of the rural municipality.
Likewise, re-polls are also being conducted at A, B and C centres of Baiteshwor Secondary School at ward no 6 of the rural municipality, and voting centres A and B of Japhe Health Post building in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3.
A meeting held by the Election Commission on November 27 had decided to conduct re-polling, citing unfair play and absence of a free and fearless environment at the polling centres on November 20.
