Two die as scooter crashes into parked truck

Two people died in a road accident in Mechinagar Municipality-12 of Jhapa district on Wednesday night.
According to the Jhapa District Police Office, a scooter en route from Charaali to Budhabare collided with a broken-down truck, resulting in casualties.
The deceased are a 25-year-old woman from Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-5 in Jhapa and a 29-year-old man from Rong Rural Municipality-5 in Ilam.
They were taken to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for treatment, where they breathed their last, said Jhapa police.
The scooter and the truck have been impounded by Charaali police. The driver is on the run, according to officials.
