Floods, landslides displace 334 people in Panchthar

Panchthar
As many as 334 people have been displaced in Panchthar due to floods and landslides that have devastated the district with the onset of the monsoon.
According to police, locals of Yangwarak, Phalelung, Hilihang and Phidim have been displaced.
Police Inspector Diwas Kunwar of Panchthar District Police Office said landslides have damaged 68 houses so far.
A recent landslide displaced 25 families in ward 3 of Phalelung Rural Municipality and seven families in Hilihang-7, police said.
Ward chair Bharat Khapangi said 40 houses in Phalelung-5 are at risk after the land sank.
