Three injured as micro-finance victims, police clash in Inaruwa

At least three people were injured following a clash between protesters and the police in Inaruwa of Sunsari district on Sunday.
The clash ensued after the protestors, victims of micro-finance companies, tried to block the traffic on the East-West Highway at Bus Chowk in Inaruwa.
Superintendent of Police Prabhu Prasad Dhakal of the District Police Office, Sunsari informed that three people were injured during the clash.
Dhakal said that two policemen and a woman protester were injured after the protesters pelted stones towards the police personnel while they were trying to clear the road section.
All three injured persons have been discharged after treatment at District Hospital Inaruwa, said Dhakal.
Victims from various microfinance institutions have been protesting in Inaruwa for a month. Earlier, they submitted a memorandum to the District Administration Office and had staged a sit-in in the district headquarters.
