Indian security personnel on Saturday arrested four Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to enter Nepal illegally by claiming themselves as Indians.
A team of Sashastra Seema Bal deployed at the Nepal-India border arrested them from Panitanki border crossing. The Bangladeshis had tried to enter Nepal by presenting fake Aadhaar Cards. The Aadhaar Card is an identity document issued by the Indian government.
The arrested are Mohammad Shohag Miya, Kamrul Hussain, Mohammad Maanir Hussain and Sofi Ul Alam.
According to SSB sources, Indian nationals Mohammad Hussain and Mohammad Sipan, who helped the Bangladeshis in their bid to enter Nepal illegally, were also nabbed.
Indian police said they have started an investigation into the case after seeking judicial remand from the court.
