Vote counting resumes in Udayapur-1

The vote counting that was halted in Udayapur-1 for the past three days resumed on Tuesday.
The counting resumed at 11am after Chief Election Officer Krishna Prasad Subedi, who was entrusted by the Election Commission with the authority to take an action as per the prevailing laws, invalidated 100 votes
The CPN-UML’s candidate Manju Kumari Chaudhary boycotted the counting after the counting restarted.
The counting was stalled on Sunday morning following a dispute after 100 votes cast for provincial assembly were found in a ballot box for the first-past-the-post category for the House of Representatives.
A total of 63,080 votes out of 76,756 votes cast have been counted so far.
As per the latest update, Narayan Khadka of the Nepali Congress is leading the vote count tally with 27,484 votes. Manju Kumari Chaudhary of UML has so far garnered 25,659 votes.
