Three dead, six injured in road accident in Okhaldhunga

Three policemen died while five policemen and a driver were injured in a jeep accident at Bhadarekhola in Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-6, Okhaldhunga on Wednesday.
The jeep carrying arms and ammunition from the Solukhumbu District Police Office to the State Police Office, Biratnagar fell about 100 metres off the road, police said.
There were nine passengers aboard the jeep when the accident occurred.
Two policemen died on the spot while one died while being airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment from a local hospital in Udaypur where he was first taken along with the other injured.
The six injured in the accident—Inspector Rishi Raj Dhakal, Assistant Inspector of Police Dhanraj Khatiwada, Deputy Inspector of Police Nawaraj Dahal, Constable Bishal Shrestha, Constable Bhupendra Khanal and driver Lila Prasad Khanal of Ilam—were taken to Ghurmi-based Janasewa Hospital and Astha Hospital in Udaypur for treatment and were later airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment, according to police.
According to Uddhav Pokhrel, Inspector at the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, the deceased police constables were from District Police Office, Solukhumbu.
