‘Unknown disease kills two persons’

Basanti Rishidev, 24, and Narayan Rishidev, 23, recently died of the disease with symptoms including fever, headache and vomiting. They died before they could receive medical attention.
Both Basanti and Narayan had reportedly counselled a local shaman after they got sick.
Rajendra Pokharel, the municipal mayor, said the sick villagers were taken to Mechi Zonal Hospital in Bhadrapur on Sunday after the news about spread of “mysterious illness” came out.
The sick villagers were discharged on Monday.
Doctors could not identify the disease stalking the settlement, said Pokharel, adding that the disease has caused panic among villagers.
One dies of diarrhoea
DOLAKHA: An elderly person died and at least 12 people are said to be sick due a diarrhoea outbreak at remote Simigaun settlement in Dolakha. Chief District Officer Laxman Bikram Thapa said diarrhoea killed 70-year-old Tenji Sherpa and downed at least 12 people in Simigaun. A medical team reached the affected area on Monday to administer treatment.
